I’ll admit it: I took some time off last week and again this weekend. What can I say? I had a hideous sinus attack last Wednesday, one that was bad enough that I took to my bed whimpering for most of the day. I made up for it by working on Saturday — I have a grant proposal due this week — but then I decided that I deserved a fall break. Seriously, we started the academic year a week early so we could have a *two* day break in October.
This does not make me a lazy, fat cat professor. After all that’s a 5-to-2 trade off, folks.
Instead, The Coach and I managed to find a way around the half-marathon to go to breakfast with friends. We road tripped to the hinderlands of Indiana (i.e., Hovey Lake, above). We played mini-golf. We cleaned the house. And yesterday, I went to work to check on the hermit crabs, then decided to go home after a couple of hours.
It’s not like my to-do list is going to shrink anytime in the near future, right?
